Under 7 Girls Hockey
Girls aged 5 and 6 years as on 1st January are eligible to
play in the U7 Girls hockey competition.
The competition consists of teams playing each other on a
rotational basis with a focus on participation and skill development.
Teams of 7 players play on a 1/4 size field with modified
rules to introduce them to the game and the concepts of playing
a team sport.
Games are played on Saturday mornings at Rasey Park at
Wilston and the season culminates in a skills day on the last
weekend.
Training takes place on the grass at Easts Tiger Turf, Clem Jones Centre, Carina a 5.00pm on Thursday evenings.
Note: Girls can play in the boy's competition from 4 years
and up to the under 13 age group and therefore are able to start
a year earlier.
Under 9 Girls Hockey
Girls aged 7 or 8 years as on 1st January are eligible to
play in the competition.
The competition consists of teams playing each other on a
rotational basis with a focus on participation and skill development.
Teams of 9 players play on half field and modified rules of
hockey apply for this age level, including the awarding of corners.
Games are played at Rasey Park, Wilston and the season
culminates in a skills day on the last weekend.
Training takes place 5.00pm Thursday evenings on the grass at Easts Tiger Turf, Clem Jones Centre, Carina.
Under Age Hockey
The competition consists of Under 11, Under 13 and J age groups.
The age of the player as on 1 January determines the age group
which is applicable.
Under 9, Under 11 and Under 13 fixtures are played on grass
on Saturday mornings at either Downey Park at Newmarket or Rasey
Park at Wilston.
Training takes place 5.00pm on Thursday evenings either on the grass or turf
at Easts Tiger Turf, Clem Jones Centre, Carina or on occasions on the artificial surface at
the State Hockey Centre.
The J competition is for players under 17 years of age. Teams
are nominated into one of four J grades by clubs based upon
ability. Players of varying ages may play in the one team based
upon their ability.
Fixtures are played on Friday evenings or Saturday mornings at Downey Park, Windsor.

Junior Turf Hockey
The JTurf competition consists of three divisions.
All games are played on artificial surfaces in and around Brisbane.(Easts Tiger Turf, Clem Jones Centre, Carina, Colmslie, Burringbar and Redcliffe).
The competition is played on Friday nights, with Easts fielding three JTurf teams last year.
Training is generally held on Monday afternoons/early evening at either the Easts Tiger Turf, Clem Jones Centre, Carina or the State Hockey Centre, Colmslie
